Urgent Works 24/7
Urgent works, 24/7
Life-threatening emergency? 000, every time. For everything urgent but survivable, here is exactly what to do and when to call us.
Life-threatening emergency? Call 000 first
Fire, electric shock or fallen powerlines is a 000 call, every time. For urgent electrical work, switch off the main switch at your meter box if you can safely reach it - do not touch anything wet or sparking - then call us.
What we cover
- Total or partial power failure
- Burning smell, scorch marks or smoke from a board, switch or outlet
- Sparking outlets, switches or fittings
- Water into a switchboard, meter box or ceiling wiring
- Storm damage to your electrical installation
- Repeated tripping that will not reset

Call 000 first when life is at risk
Fire, electric shock, or fallen powerlines: that is a 000 call before it is an electrician call. Stay well clear of fallen lines - never touch them or anything they are touching. Once everyone is safe, we handle the electrical side.
What counts as urgent
Anything burning, sparking, smoking or wet is urgent, and so is total loss of power if someone in the house depends on it - medical equipment, a shop full of stock, or a cool room. A dead power point in the spare room can wait until morning and cost you less.
Straight answers on the phone
Call and describe what is happening. If it can safely wait until the morning we will say so. If it cannot, we will tell you what to switch off and get to you.
Questions people actually ask
Should I call you or 000?
If anyone is in danger - fire, electric shock, fallen powerlines - call 000 first, every time. Call us for the urgent electrical work that follows: no power, sparking, burning smells, storm damage.
Do you really answer 24/7?
We attend urgent call outs around the clock. Call 0400 730 804 and you will get a straight answer about whether we can get to you and when.
Does after-hours cost more?
After-hours urgent work is charged at a higher rate than a booked weekday job. We will tell you the rate on the phone before we come out, not after.
The power is out. Is it me or the network?
Check whether your neighbours have power, and check your main switch and safety switches. If the whole street is out it is a network outage - around Mildura and Robinvale that is Powercor, faults 13 24 12; on the NSW side of the river (Wentworth, Dareton, Buronga) it is Essential Energy on 13 20 80. If it is only your place, it is on your side of the meter and we can help.
Something sparking, burning or dead right now?
We answer around the clock, and you will know the rate before we leave the driveway.
